Flights of Opportunity are one-time flight requests outside of an established Strategic or Flagship project, often testing a new idea, working with a new partner, or beginning work in a new area. While consisting of no more than a few flights, they still produce significant results.
- Flying photographers and journalists to document environmental issues for news articles.
- Checking mines, factories, and large-scale agriculture producers for pollution violations.
- Tracking wildlife from the air: lynx, cougars, woodpeckers and more.
- Fly senators and representatives over areas to be impacted by proposed legislation or development.
