Conservation Team
Chris Boyer
Chris is a unique member of the LightHawk team, serving as both a program manager and a volunteer pilot who has been flying LightHawk conservation missions for more than 20 years. Raised a conservationist, he studied fluvial geomorphology in graduate school at Oregon State University, where he also learned to fly. After a first career in landscape restoration, he started Kestrel Aerial Services to provide aerial survey, mapping, and photography throughout the Northern Rockies. Chris flies a modified 1957 Cessna 172 he calls “the Red Plane” and brings his background in natural resources, photography, and aviation to his efforts at LightHawk.
Chris’s images have appeared in galleries, museums, and numerous regional and national publications, and he is currently working on a book of his photography.
