Our flights provide a big picture view that empowers filmmakers. Showing the view from a small aircraft, filmmakers are able to demystify complex environmental issues and provide audiences with a visceral level of understanding. As one passenger said after their LightHawk flight, "If a picture is worth a thousand words, a flight is worth a million."
Flights empower filmmakers who are working to raise the profile of the most pressing environmental challenges we face as a society. LightHawk has provided the aerial perspective to award winning, film festival recognized productions such as Gasland, Red Gold, The Greatest Migration, Facing Climate Change, A Changing Delta and Watershed. We also donate flights to emerging filmmakers such as Jolynn Minnaar of Unearthed; John Fiege of Above All Else; Katie Campbell of COAL; and Danny Schmidt of Feeding the Problem to enhance their projects.
