|Have you included LightHawk in your estate plans?|
Appreciated Personal Property
Donations of appreciated personal property, like real estate, can reduce capital gains tax, provide an income tax deduction, or if used to create a trust, provide income for life for you or a loved one.
Provide for the future of our planet by naming LightHawk as a beneficiary in your will or revocable trust. Bequests are a powerful way to leave a legacy of conservation that costs you nothing during your lifetime. You may designate a specific dollar amount, a particular asset or a fixed percentage of your estate. See our Sample Bequest Language.
Retirement Plan Gifts
You can benefit your heirs and LightHawk while reducing income tax and estate taxes by naming LightHawk as beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified plan. During 2011, if you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax free distribution to LightHawk from your IRA. More helpful information here.
Life Insurance Gifts
Naming LightHawk as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy allows you to leave a legacy of conservation and reduce estate taxes. These policies may also be given outright.
Trusts And Annuities
There are a variety of trust and annuity arrangements available that can benefit donors to LightHawk. All have tax benefits, some provide lifetime income to the donor or designated individual, while others provide support to LightHawk for a period of time with the remainder going to heirs.
* Please consider letting us know if you have included LightHawk in your estate or financial plans by filling out our Planned Gift Notification Form. We realize that many people prefer to keep their bequest and planned giving intentions private, but we would love to be able to acknowledge your gift in a way that best honors your intentions.
This form is non-binding and strictly confidential- unless you give us permission to publicly acknowledge your generosity. We collect this information in order to build momentum and provide inspiration for others – powerful leverage for our planned giving program which makes your gift even more meaningful.
We are abundantly grateful for all gifts and support to LightHawk. Thank you for working with us to protect our clean water, wildlife, and wilderness for generations to come.
